Since the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty, the European citizens benefit from a new power: thanks to the European Citizens' Initiative, they can, for the first time in the European history, directly suggest new legislation.
If one million European citizens sign the petition before the 2nd September 2011, the European Commission will hence to take a stand on this issue. Let’s collect one million signatures to show the EC that the European citizens want to fight violence against women!

On November 23, South Korean women's groups made a statement on North Korea’s Artillery Barrage on Yeongpyeong Island.
I would like to ask you to help us reduce tensions in and around Korean peninsula and promote peace.

"Alkmaar, NL: Over seventy representatives of the world's branches, groups and affiliates of the International Fellowship of Reconciliation (IFOR) met in Baarlo, Netherlands, November 13 - 21, 2010, for its Council meeting. Several significant new members from Sudan, Chad and Bangladesh were welcomed. The gathering also elected a new International Committee, which serves as the fellowship's governing body between Council meetings."

VIDEO: WPP ToT for Male Peace Activists

As a response to women’s voices in the field, the WPP initiated a pilot Training of Trainers (ToT) cycle, entitled “Overcoming Violence – Exploring Masculinities, Violence and Peacebuilding” for 19 male peace activists from 17 different countries, taking place in 2009/2010.
