The Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration
SPONSORED BY THE KING CENTER

Saturday, January 8, 2011 - Monday, January 17, 2011
Atlanta, Georgia

The 2011 King Holiday Observance will mark the 82nd birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the 43rd Annual Program of the King Center, and the 25th anniversary of the National Holiday in his honor, which is celebrated in all 50 states and over 100 countries around the world.

Remember! Celebrate! Act!
A Day On, Not A Day Off

The theme reiterates the importance of remembering Dr. King’s work and legacy, celebrating his birthday as a national holiday and acting on his teachings and principles of nonviolence and human rights. It also serves as a reminder that the holiday is a day on for community service initiatives and programs promoting interracial cooperation, not just a day off from work or school.

Celebrating 25 Years
Monday, January 20, 1986 was the 1st national King Holiday observed.
